ISB Poet in Residence: Luka Lesson
Australian slam poetry champion and hip-hop artist ignited ISB students' passion for the spoken word during his workshops in English, humanities and drama classes. He also honed students' writing and performance skills as part of the 2015 Middle School PoetryCon, which culminated with daily recitals in the MS/HS Cafeteria. |
Chinese Integration: Homestay Program
ISB has collaborated with the High School Affiliated with Renmin University of China (人大附中西山学校) in a homestay program since 2013. The partnership allows families from both schools to make meaningful connections and build lasting friendships. ISB believes people-to-people exchanges offer a meaningful way to deepen our students’ cultural connection with their host country, and our homestay program with the local Chinese school gives students a chance to break out of their Shunyi “bubble.” The program also aligns with initiatives in Strategic Plan IV by increasing relevant learning through an authentic, compelling local engagement and enhances our students’ understanding of China through a collaborative educational partnership. |

Middle School Scavenger Hunt
ISB middle school students get off to a fun start to the 2014-15 academic year by participating in a scavenger hunt on August 8, 2014. The school-wide hunt began and ended at the stadium. Students used their creativity and intellect to piece together clues and find items on checklists. |
ISB Futures Academy
The ISB Futures Academy is an educational model that uses project-based learning and experiential learning to invigorate our L21 curriculum and bring the ISB vision statement to life. In the 2014-15 academic year, a small cohort of 22 Grade 7 ISB students will have the opportunity to explore this dynamic and innovative approach to learning. |
