ISB 2015 Senior Heroes
The ISB Class of 2015 were given several opportunities throughout the school year to work and collaborate with our youngest students at ISB (EC-Grade 2). This was an opportunity to give our oldest students practice in leadership and responsibility. We were very proud of our amazing seniors as they all did a wonderful job working with the elementary students and proving to be great role models. This was also a great opportunity for the ES students to learn from our older students and practice their communication and collaboration skills. |
NBA Legend Yao Ming Visits ISB
Chinese basketball great Yao Ming visited the International School of Beijing on June 5, 2015. He offered tips to students participating in his namesake NBA Yao School before joining a student-led dialogue in the theater. ISB is the first international school to partner with NBA China and offer the NBA Yao School as an after-school activity. The NBA Yao School promotes teamwork, leadership, fitness, and fun by teaching children the basics of basketball. |

ISB's state-of-the-art performing arts facilities including the 600-seat theater and Black Box provide the perfect stage for students to ignite their passion for theater. |
Composer in Residence: James Humberstone
ISB Composer in Residence James Humberstone helped high school film students discover their creative side during his week of workshops about sound on film from November 17 to 21, 2014. The majority of students lacked any musical background, but that didn't deter them from laying down their own beats using cutting-edge audio editing software. |

High School BEAD Math
If you think the only tools you need for math are a calculator, ruler and protractor, think again. BEAD Math incorporates business, engineering, art and design. High school students plan their designs for projects, including lamps and bookshelves, using careful measurements and infusing math theory, such as trigonometry. They then build them using newly acquired woodwork skills before considering their marketability under a business model. |
